Hi! I'm Mrs. Linda Austin and I am starting my 32th year of teaching! I'm certified in Science, Math, and AIG. I've taught grades 5-9 and lots of different things. I really enjoy kids and I'm proud to be a teacher.

I think Belmont Middle is a great school and the best place to be! I will be having after school help sessions on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:00 and everyone is welcome. Think of it as a Science club opportunity as well as a learning opportunity. Those of you who wish to participate in the Gaston County Regional Science Fair this year can also come and get help with your projects. I love teaching Math and I enjoy all animals but especially cats and horses. I love to watch Science programs on TV and reading Discover Magazine as well as Popular Science. I also love to read spy-type novels and historical romance novels. I enjoy crafting, drawing, and painting as well. I have a lovely husband and 2 children ages 23 and 25. I have a beautiful grandaughter who is 4 months old and is the apple of my eye! I think teaching young people keep me feeling young. I certainly hope you catch my enthusiasm this year in class!  Let's have a great year!
