All car riders should be delivered and picked up in front of the school. The bus access road is for buses only. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!
Please refrain from coming in to get your child at dismissal time. That is a very busy time of day when teachers are ending the day, making sure assignments are copied down, etc. We will do our best to get all bus students loaded safely and all car riders to the front in a timely manner. Safety of the children is our primary concern. We appreciate your patience and help with this. If you must change your child's way home, please send this information to your child's teacher in writing. We realize that on rare occasions you may need to call the school office to make a change. If that happens, unless there is an emergency, we ask that you call BEFORE 1:30 p.m.
Students and parents are expected to adhere to the policies set forth by Gaston County Schools if riding the bus. The bus policies have been developed in order to keep your child safe. Parents will receive bus information when enrolling at Gardner Park. Students riding the bus must be outside at the assigned bus stop each morning. Buses will not wait or blow the horn for studensts. Students may not change which bus he/she rides except by permission of the Principal or Assistant Principal. We do understand that in rare situations, a child may have to ride another bus.
Parents who wish to change a child's bus transportation should send this request in writing to the school or should call the school office BEFORE 1:30 p.m.
Parents should be aware that the goal of the school is to have each child arrive home safely each day. At the end of a very busy day, messages are often misplaced or forgotten and the result is a child who goes home the wrong way. Parent concerns about buses should be directed to the Principal or Assistant Principal. Students who violate bus rules will lose the privilege of riding the bus.
