Senior Portraits Information:  Senior Portraits will be taken on Monday, August 18. The schedule and letter sent to seniors is linked below, Please note, ONLY Carolina Photography portraits will be accepted in the yearbook. To insure you have a yearbook image, you must be photographed at the tux and drape camera.

Class of 2018 .Freshman Orientation will be on Tuesday, August 19. Students should report from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Parents are invited back for Open House beginning at 5 p.m. to meet with teachers and attend a counselor presentation

Highland School of Technology is a technology magnet high school located in Gastonia, NC.  Our mission is to prepare all students to be successful in postsecondary education, the community and workplace by providing each student with a rigorous and relevant academic, character and technological education.  Through a lottery process, each of our students enters into one of seven career pathways.

99.3% Graduation Rate

Highland principal Denise McLean and GCS Superintendent Reeves McGlohon are presented with a plaque commemorating  this accomplishment. The award was presented at a luncheon in Durham by State Superintendent June Atkinson.
