Microsoft IT Academy A and B

About MITA

Microsoft IT Academy (MITA) students benefit from using world-class Microsoft curricula and cutting-edge software tools to tackle real-world challenges in the classroom environment. Using the most current version of the Microsoft Office Suite, Office 10, students will learn to use the interfaces, commands and features of the various software to create, enhance, and customize documents, publications, presentations, spreadsheets, and databases. Through the rigorous Highland experience, FBLA competitive events, community service and leadership activities they will have the opportunity to use these tools throughout their high school tenure and beyond. In the first course (MITA A), students learn to use Word features to create, enhance, customize and share documents and publish complex documents. They will learn to use Publisher features to create, customize and publish publications, and to use PowerPoint features to create, enhance, customize and deliver presentations. In the second course (MITA B), students learn to use Excel tools and features to create, enhance, customize, calculate and analyze data using spreadsheets.
